And so far, no one has proven that.
That's the worry , and that's the reason we are not scoring goals. Kelly is out of position out wide, and Mackreth has not had a consistent run due to injuries. We need to change to 433 and sign Vose. Teams play 442 when they have decent wingers, Smith changed to 442 to accommodate Matty Done. None of our wingers are worth persisting with 442.

Agree about Rutherford yes he is looking better this season and can't fault his workrate, but for me he is an older Robbie Evans looks busy without doing much, players in his position should contribute to scoring as well as providing ammunition for the strikers, he has probably reached his level of improvement at his age, but we need wingers who can beat a fullback and put a good cross in.

Rutherford is in the side due to no real competition so unless we sign someone who is better we will have to persevere with him.

Agree about the wingers and I think Maccy used Holroyd wide as he was quite creative so that would be worth a go in a 433 with Wedgbury/Wright/Kelly as a midfield 3 and Massanka/Reid/Holroyd as the front 3.

Pressure would be on Jennings/Roberts to support the midfield but in fairness to Jennings he doesn't go missing in games like some.

Kelly looked class in the 20 minute spell he had in centre mid on Saturday

Jennings/Hurst combo could underpin a 433, not sure about Roberts.

Yeah I would rather it be Jennings/Hurst.

The other option of Roberts/carrington would be too negative.

Nobody looked "class" on Saturday. Kelly looked slightly improved in a central position and had one or two nice touches but hardly class

lol, my thoughts exactly, hopefully Saturday's "performance" will be the worst of the season.

Sadly he's still not good enough for a team with hopes of getting into the playoffs. I had hoped he'd be a squad filler and not a regular this season.

Agree. Can't fault Rutherfords work rate but large parts of the game pass him by and he doesn't offer enough.

For me he's filling in while Mackreth gets fit and finds form.
