I agree but at least DK recognised, after 11 games, that the central midfield position existed. This is the one single position that has been left unused all season and, I firmly believe it is the key reason why our forwards have underachieved. This gives 2 concerns.. will DK persist wth developing this role and is Kelly the right man for it? Can't help wondering how Dom Vose could have worked in that space. Dream on.

I actually like Roberts and would persevere with him, he will come good.

Less well than on the left IMO. It's more congested in the middle and Vose wouldn't have as much space to work with.

I seem to remember most of Newton's crosses floating high above the men in the box. They were so bad that even if Jordan White put another lad on his shoulders and jumped they'd still be at least five feet off meeting the ball.

Admittedly White didn't do much jumping but still.

I think over the season and a bit he was with us, he had several assists and several goals. Did you watch his first season? The newton/vose/jennings 3 some was highly effective

Most were low across the face of the 6 yard box. Could never work out whether it was his crosses that were too hard or if the strikers weren't gambling. He never played with White

I think that could be said of most of our crosses - even now this season and with different players.

We need to mix it up with some low crosses drilled into the 6 yards box and then others that can go in high but need to beat the first man.

Generally our set pieces, corners and crossing into the box is very poor. I rarely get excited over getting a corner as nothing usually comes from it and we also fail to pick up the 2nd ball.

Something I think needs to be worked on in training.

As for Newton his attacking play was far better than Jennings.

I did watch. I don't remember many assists and a regular complaint among fans was his inability to find one of our players in the box with his crosses.

I was being facetious and not historically accurate about White.
