Default Friday September 29th

Far too many people have been affected by cancer in one way or another. MacMillan Cancer Support knows how a cancer diagnosis can affect everything. So, they’re here to support us and help us take back some control of our life. From help with money worries and advice about work, to someone who’ll listen if you just want to talk, they’re there.

On Friday 29th September Wrexham AFC will be fundraising to help with this tremendous work. The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer. People all over the UK host their own Coffee Mornings and donations on the day are made to Macmillan. Last year alone it raised £25 million and this year we are aiming to raise even more.
The coffee morning will be held in The Centenary Club at The Racecourse Ground from 11am until 2pm. Team manager, Dean Keates and his squad will be in attendance after they finish training so why not pop down and have a brew with us?

To make this event a success we are asking for donations of cakes to help with the fundraising. If you would like to donate please contact Stuart Roberts at stuart.roberts@wst.org.uk to arrange drop off or collection from your home address.

A great cause. I will be collecting for McMillans with other members of Prestatyn Rotary Club in Marks and Spencers in the town on that day. I hope we both make some decent money for such a worthy cause.

Its an extremely good cause but along with the Air Ambulance RNLI Nightingale House etc etc it really grates with me that they have to rely so heavily on charitable funding to provide such excellent services.

This alongside cutbacks to NHS and local authority social services and the clawback of genuine disability benefits will place an extra burden on charities and such like.

However government can always find the funding to refurbish Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament and waste billions on Trident and aircraft carriers!

Priorities eh

As someone who will be needing their support before too long let me lend my voice to encouraging everyone who is able to support this charity. But I do agree with Red (above) and there are also many other deserving causes.

It would be good to see those blood sucking leeches in the House of Lords donate one days 'expenses' to a worthy cause.

Very sorry to hear your news.
Wife has promised to make a 'red army' cake and we will both attend for sure.

So sorry to hear that.
What a great group McMillan are and they should be totally funded by the government without having the need to fund raise.

Vorporix - hope you have had a complete response
