Yes, can see Ray Smith soaring to that header, right in front of the kop now......Strangest thing was I don't remember Wrexham fans being segregated,. I remember being in the paddock with the kop on our right...And being surrounded by Liverpool fans.

Yes a great header it was their was no segregation as such those days if my memory serves me well even at the Cae Ras you could walk around and stand wherever you wanted. Swap ends each half or stand on the sides. Fans more civilised them days.

I was at Liverpool for that game and remember that goal as if it was yesterday. January 1970 I think, its why I still follow Wrexham after 45 years in Australia.

Crowd was 54,300 and Wrexham sold out their 10,000 allocation.

Up 1-0 at half time and I think it was Ray Clemences debut in goal for Liverpool.

We had 2,300+ at Stockport when we lost 1-0, and have taken 2,000 to Telford, Altrincham and Macc before now I believe. But still a great Away attendance with a superb atmosphere!

I believe segregation nationally was introduced around 1977 due to increasing crowd trouble which had been worsening since late 60's. But I think from that point on all grounds adopted designated 'Away' sections.
Interestingly but when I talk to fans of an older generation they all remark how the Tech end was the proper home end for wrexham, much more than the kop.
I'd imagine the all encompassing roof on the tech end would have helped create a great atmosphere.

we took one hell of a following to forest green in the first season and we normally take over 1000 to Kidderminster every year
