Yes I was on the kop near the boys pen (remember we had one as well)

16 February 1980.

Anyone remember this game in the FA Cup.

Took a big away following to Goodison Park where we eventually lost 5 - 2.

I'm pretty sure Mick Vinter scored both Wrexham goals.

Look how packed the terrace is behind the goal where Bob Latchford scores - you can tell it's the away end by the 'none' reaction of the supporters - in those days the upper tier of the stand (seated area) was also given to away fans - 37 years ago and in the words of Victor Meldrew 'I don't believe it' !

Interestingly but when I talk to fans of an older generation they all remark how the Tech end was the proper home end for wrexham, much more than the kop.
I'd imagine the all encompassing roof on the tech end would have helped create a great atmosphere.

I always preferred the Tech End to the kop. Although much smaller than the kop, the atmosphere was completely different..With the low roof the sound was much more atmospheric, even a bit of crowd sway as well.....

The kop is much missed, but in those days it was the Tech End , with most of the crowd moving there for which ever half that generated the best atmosphere.....

I heard that half time you'd commonly see large groups of chaps relieving themselves against the back of the tech end . No wonder the roof fell down !
