Never going to happen and is nothing peculiar to us. At home the fans sit back and demand entertainment and victory , away they feel the team 'needs' them and so become much more vocal. At a guess at least 50% and probably more of yesterday's following came from the Yale/MRS and yet we (me included) hardly ever sing at home games.
What we have to eliminate is the moaning and individual player assassination then the players would not be nervous. I thought Jennings had a poor game against Guisley but kept my thoughts to myself- others didn't (which they are entitled to do of course) but it certainly affected him.

What was Keates referring to when he mentioned social media? Have players getting abuse on Twitter?

It's one thing venting on here, it's to be expected, but why do people do stuff like that?

This is so true and Jennings is a good example. He's a National League player and most lads in the league have there ups and downs. Having watched his post match interview no one could have been more pleased with the result than he was.

I actually thought Jennings played well against Guisley. He was getting forward down the left but others weren't passing to him. Just shows its a game of opinions and we all see things differently. Don't recall any abuse towards him at the match, although some were rightly saying he needed to stop getting yellow cards.

As you say you are entitled to your opinion which I respect. The general feeling around was he was not getting forward enough - like the team as a whole. Perhaps it was just his proximity to the MRS and the general frustration. One thing is sure - he was aware of it and I think he is a 'mood' player. Yesterday we roared everything he and the team did and they all responded.

Jennings is a good player and I like him a lot. I think he is underrated because of his big gob.

The thing is going back to the good old days of the 70s it was us on the Kop that did the singing and encouraging. Since the loss of the Kop the vocal support has become spread out, in the Techend it's better than the moan road stand and the Yale.

Also yesterday we all stood up in the cowshed and since all seating in stadiums ground have got quieter vocally, that along with the die hard fans are there ones who's got away when they can.

Agree. Sitting down has killed football atmospheres.

However, standing in seating areas is dangerous. Safe standing is the way football needs to go. Too many grounds are like morgues.
