I just hope that January 6th is an FA Cup 3rd round game rather than Torquay...talk about poles apart!! FA Cup 3rd round is our heritage and pedigree for those of us born after 1982 anyway - bring back the glory days guys...but not at the expense at getting back into the football league proper...COYR!!!

Best book my Wembley weekend now then, WE could possibly end up at Wembley on five occasions this season i.e. Totenham Away Quarter Final, Semi Final and Final, Trophy Final and Play off final but do not think my dream will last as I think we will win the league.

Then I woke up and smelt some roses.

If football was predictable and we didn't have a Martin Luther King dream for the future it would be awful - you have to go through years of mediocre / average days to have an 'Arsenal memory' that lasts a lifetime.

We need a few kind hand dips into the sacred velvet bag and with a bit / lot of luck you never know what might happen.

Problem is if we start progressing in the FA Cup and the FA trophy we could end up with a fixture pile up - those Saturday league matches being re-arranged to midweek and further Trophy matches taking priority on Saturday's leading to further postponements. Also our squad is pretty threadbare - I think we have a decent starting eleven now and a bit of cover but an injury or suspension to big players like Pearson, Smith or Holroyd could cost us dearly in addition to having to contend with the possibility of the departure of Wright, Massanka and Reid.

Alternatively wins breed confidence and success no matter what competition your playing in - crowds increase, everyone will want to be there - at least we are in a great place to challenge in the league which will maintain high interest.

Will settle for a Premier League club away in round 3 and then back to winning the league

It's a treble or nothing mate.

One of the few grounds I've never been to (including the old Highbury). Have we ever played Arsenal away?

Emirates would most likely be the biggest money spinner. Tickets aren't cheap there, even for these games. United would reduce their admission to £20.

The FA Cup should be given the highest priority as it offers opportunity (all be it the luck of the draw) to build funds for the following season - just look at Sutton and Lincoln .
The FAT does not offer anything like the potential rewards and should be sacrificed on the alter of promotion.

We have a better 'cup' set up than a 'league' one in that three one nil victories and we could be at Old Trafford, the first against lower league opposition and another later on with any luck.

Of course there is a massive element of luck but it would also demonstrate forward thinking and planning ahead.

I do hear what you say Bill but realistically we do have a chance of reaching a Wembley final in the trophy - much depends on the luck of the draw of course. No matter what competition we play in I want to see us go for a win in every first team match we play.

I will never tire of going to see Wrexham at Wembley in a final although having never been there we were suddenly spoilt with 3 visits in a short space of time - some supporters give the impression that the Trophy final isn't an attractive proposition - it would bring in the funds, propel the club up in the media and be a great end of season day out - there's plenty of kids from other non league clubs who will never ever get to see their club at Wembley - I for one will never undervalue that opportunity and experience - it's what lifetime memories are made of.
