Default Ratings vs Sutton

Coddington 7 - did everything required of him and could do nothing about the goal

Roberts 9 - his best appearance in a Wrexham shirt
Manny 8 - standard Manny - gave the ball away a couple of times in the first half but held it together well
Pearson 8 - doesn't need to get involved with referees. Another needless yellow card
Jennings 7 - quieter than normal from Jenny but a decent game all the same

Rutherford 8 - ran his legs off for the cause
Carrington 7 - decent and always breaking up play
Wright 7 - decent without being spectacular
Kelly 9 - great first goal and great energy about him

Reid 6 - anonymous for most of the game. Ironically I thought he would have buried the chances that fell to Massanka
Holroyd 8 - never gives up and his lovely move created the space from which we scored

Hurst 6- looked rusty and struggled to get into the game
Massanka 6 - when you are paid to score goals that is what you are supposed to do. Could have had a hat trick
Mackreth not really on long enough to make an impression.

2 weeks ago we were happy to score in the last minute but we didn't learn the lesson. Ironically that was some of the best football we have played at the Cae Ras for a while

Default Re: Ratings vs Sutton

Coddington- 7 didn't have a great deal to do but made some good saves when called upon. Kicking was decent. Not sure hehad a chance with the goal.

Roberts- 8- had a tough match as a lot of Sutton's play came down his flank. Generally did well. Probably his best game for us so far.
Manny- 9 Monumental.
Pearson-7.5 Another solid performance. I agree with Mike Here uh ghes about his distribution though!
Jennings- 6 loses a point for his involvement in their goal. Not bad but the weakest of the back four.

Rutherford- 6.5 Lots of effort. Helped Roberts out and put a good ball in for a Holroyd headed chance.
Carrington 6- as someone said on the reaction thread, does a lot of good stuff he doesn't get credit for. Slowed play down a little when he gets on the ball but not a bad performance.
Wright-6 Battled hard but found it difficult going in the conditions. Like Carrington worked hard.
Kelly-7.5 loved watching him ghost past players. Our best deliverer of the ball. Hugely improved performance.

Holroyd- 7.5 first half.particularly was very impressive. Works his socks off and he made the goal with some excellent play. Deserved something himself. Just behind Smith for MoM for me.
Reid- 5 just didn't get into the game.

Subs

Hurst 6. Looked a bit rusty.
Massanka 6.5 some bad misses but we looked much more potent with him playing. If only he could finish! In the warm up he buried a curling shot into the top corner from the exact same position his first chance fell at. Needs to work on his composure.
Mackreth 6 wasn't on long enough to do much

Default Re: Ratings vs Sutton

Coddington 7 not many shots to save

Roberts 8 really good defending
Smith 9 motm almost perfect
Pearson 9 great too
Jennings 7 thought he did well. Want to see the goal again,as I thought he did well to win his header in the first place

Rutherford 8 really good
Wright 7 so important until he went off
Carrington 7 great defensively
Kelly 7 good play, but not involved enough

Holroyd 7 good
Reid 5 not interested

Subs
Hurst looked unfit but his size was important
Massanka poor finishing
Mackreth

Default Re: Ratings vs Sutton

Coddington - 7 - 1 good save

Roberts 7 - bang average. Offered nothing going forward. Awful under a high ball. 1 or 2 decent tackles. Don't get the MOM

Smith 8.5 - probably his toughest opponent in Lafayette but did well

Pearson 8 - as per smith really

Jennings 5 - best left back in the league my arse. Clueless going forward. Gifted them their goal. And was lucky not to give away another when they hit the bar

Wright - 6 - not as influential today

Carrington- not as bad as normal. Mopped up defensively. Still takes a lot of forward momentum out of our play

Rutherford- 5 one good ball in. Turned down the chance to take the full back on a few times....because he can't. Would rather see mackreth

Kelly. 8 - best game so far for us. Comfortable on the ball. Scored. Set up massanka and was waiting back post when the clown decided to pass it to the keeper.

Holroyd 8 - linked up play well. Created the goal. Loads of running

Reid 4 - offered nothing really. Marked out of the game and couldn't compete it the air

Subs

Massanka 3 - did f all but manage to lose us the game

Hurst 6 - did what was required. Would rather have seen him in carringtons place

Rutherford getting 5 and 6? Really? One of the first names on the team sheet for me at the moment.

Coddington 7 - a number of good saves second half - his kicking needs to improve as he seems to put a few off the pitch - safe handling and came out confidently to punch away a cross late on - shame he was eventually beaten by a great strike.

Roberts 8 - good game, since his return he has been solid.

Manny 9 - my MOM in defence - solid and wins everything in the air - if anyone has to make a last ditch tackle it’s always him.

Pearson 8 - very solid, an organiser and communicator.
Yellow card was interesting - the ref and linesman both missed the player he was chasing the ball with pulling him back by the shorts which was the cause of them both going to ground.

Jennings 6 - some very poor mistakes today and didn’t have the best of games defensively.

Rutherford 8 - faultless for energy and drive - made some good runs and also gets back well to assist the defence.

Carrington 7 - improved as the game progressed

Wright 7 - steady and made some decent tackles

Kelly 9 - my MOM in midfield, took his goal well and was all over the pitch making good runs

Reid 5 - very poor and did not provide much - needs to chase down defenders more and not watch the game pass him by - got to challenge for the ball in the air too

Holroyd 8 - this lad has a football brain - if we are going to create and score goals he is key.

Subs

Hurst 6 - replaced Wright in a midfield role - has some height and physicality about him - poor booking to concede, some strong interventions.

Massanka 6 - the only player to have 2 if not 3 goal scoring opportunities - his first touch and control is very poor but he should have scored at least one, especially when he was fed by Kelly and only had the keeper to beat but didn’t even work the keeper shooting wide when it looked easier to score - BUT he had chances and got in good positions which others didn’t.

Mackreth 6 - a very late appearance too late in the game to have an influence.

Intercepted some balls in the right back position. Yep round of applause for a winger whose best work is 20yards from his own goal
