I remember running onto the pitch at the end of a game (against Mansfield I think) in the mid 70s to get his tie-ups.
How chuffed was I . It's not many years ago I threw those pieces of old bandage out!

It's the likes of Billy that set us apart from most Clubs in the lower divisions - he was one of many brilliant players we had in the 1970s and must have been one of the most effective centre forwards in Britain.

Had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of years ago, also had my picture taken with him. The last time I had my picture taken was 1976 when I got married, but this one with Billy is special.

Sitting in work drinking a nice cuppa from my Wrexham "Today Tomorrow Forever" mug....with a picture of a diving Billy on it.
Think we've been spoilt with strikers like Billy & Dixie.....oh for either of them now, in their prime eh !!
