Oh yes he could play football and knew what that netty thing was hanging off the posts, oh and he left for a higher club Ssilly billyhorpe and loaned out to a club on the rise Grimsby not bad for a player who can't head, can't tackle, no pace 😎 yes he's gone backwards and he obviously has other problems possibly not connected to football after all he is only a young player of 23 remember Vardies career didn't take off till he was older.

Not quite sure what point you are trying to make.

Is it that Vose is a good player who has lost his way?
Or that he is better than what have now?
Or that Ssilly billyhorpe shouldnt have let him go? Or that they should have?
Or that Vose should be brought back and somehow, miraculously he will set the world on fire?
Or that he has other issues outside of football?
Talk about covering all the bases. He has been released by Ssilly billyorpe, has no Club, and there isnt a queue to sign him, it seems.
I say, lets leave it at that.

You must have problems reading it was a reply to a previous post who said he couldn't tackle, head or basically run (no pace) i was just simply pointing out we have a strike force with those problems, the difference was he could score.
As to wanting him back please keep up he has signed for a lower league club.

[QUOTE=[Removed User];2078992]So shall I be the person to point out that you’re comparing a so called attacking midfielder where the team was built around him to three strikers playing for a team absolutely not currently playing to any of their strengths? His career stats are that he has scored 1 goal in 10 and they only reach those heady heights if you include the 10 he scored for us during a sequence where the tactics were essentially “give it to him”. School playground stuff. Once teams sussed that simplistic tat out his stats reverted to the norm which was pretty close to nil most seasons.

How on earth the fact that he failed higher up when he left here is supposed to enhance the case for him I have no idea.

What “he could play football” means in this context I have no idea. He could drop his shoulder and beat a man if you gave him the ball in the one identical position every match. If you stopped that happening, and I am genuinely astonished it took as long as it did, then his contribution was literally nil. That’s not nil occasionally. It’s not nil because the other teams were exceptional. It’s not nil because we were shit. It’s not nil because he was a lovely player but “something else” was wrong. It’s nil because his stats over his career suggest that, outside of that one trick, generally his contribution was actually just nil.[/QUOTE

That 'one trick' that we witnessed against Gateshead was for me Whittle-esq and will stay with me for a long time. A very talented young man who clearly has problems- I wish him all the success in the world.

Well i'm not disputing we have some issues upfront....but hardly worth getting someone like Vose in to do the same non job ...

Why get your knickers twisted?

All very subjective, this football lark isn't it?

Vose was lovely to watch early on, and probably did put some bums on seats, but as others have said, once he was worked out his performances tailed off. Putting him in the side we have now in place of Massanka, Boden Reid or Holroyd probably wouldn't work since we are not setting up as an attacking outfit.

I am also mildly curious (though not wanting a reply) as to how does him signing for a lower level Club stop you wanting him back, if you think he would be an asset to us.

Sorry, does that mean I'm not allowed to appreciate players like Vose?

😂 fascination with ex players erm I think you best leave me out of that one their is far more than me wanting ex players back I didn't even want Manny back after his last season with us when he was poor but he has turned out at the moment to be one of Keates best signings a rock at the back with Pearson, yes I've posted I would of had Vose back but except he has gone to a lower club, despite [Removed User] the red passion godfathers opinion which he's entitled to i happen to disagree with his assessment on Vose as does some more posters, football is about opinions if we all agreed on everything we wouldn't need these forums.
