Default Wedgebury and Carrington

Sorry to start a new thread but this is too good to bury in the match reaction discussion.

I was wondering just how different our form is when we play both Wedgebury and Carrington compared to when only one of them is playing so I decided to check the stats... it's quite staggering and really does beg the question why DK is persisting in playing them both.

We've played 15 league games and 1 cup game, I've also split the Eastleigh game into 2 because the substitutions and change of midfield structure was the catalyst for the victory

With Wedgebury and Carrington

Played - 10 (including first 60 of Eastleigh game)
Won - 2
Drawn - 3
Lost - 5
Goals for - 4
Goals against - 9
Points - 9
PPG - 0.9

Without either Wedge or Carra

Played - 7 (including last 30 mins of Eastleigh game)
Won - 5
Drawn - 2
Lost - 0
Goals for - 8
Goals against - 1
Points - 17
PPG - 2.4

Surely this is evidence enough that we can't fit both of these defensive players into the side and it also dispels any thoughts that we are tighter at the back if they both play because we've conceded more goals with both of them on the field.

Absolutely nothing wrong with Wedgbury. He's a sound defensive midfielder to have.

It's not playing a creative CM alongside him, and/or playing Carrington instead of a better defensive midfielder in Wright.

Can someone please have a word with Dean, this is boring now and very worrying. Lets not go into the striker and goals situation, that's just beyond.

This. I presume Darlington has zero input with team selasction then, if he has, wtf?

Darlington is the stats man so I assume he's factored this into his masterplan. Good job we've got those heart rate monitors

Dean loves his stats so this must be obvious to him, so it really beggars belief he persists.

At the moment Carrington should play only if one of Roberts, Wedgbury, Wright or Hurst is injured. Good squad player.

Someone should send these stats via letter to Dean.

We average a goal every 153 min with Carrington on the pitch
We average 111 min per goal with him out.
