I think he had something in his eye, if you look he seemed to veer away and grab his face when the goal went in, he did then run to the team to celebrate.

To be fair to Boden, he was well placed to score his first goal for the club and in the split second that the defender got a touch to it, felt that gutted feeling that the chance had gone. Then probably realised the goal had been scored and I'm sure a picture in the leader has him moving over to where the celebrations were taking place.

The lad is under pressure and though I'm sure he wants the team to win and do well, he must be desperate for that first goal. Maybe he was suffering mixed emotions in that moment.

I'm not going to slate him for not going nuts...

When the team was announced I knew that team would not win. We huffed and puffed. Then Carrington goes off and the whole dynamic changes. Suddenly we are spraying passes to the wing, looking fluid and creating chances. This rubbish about Carrington not being able to play with Wedgebury has now been de-bunked. The whole problem is Carrington. Without him we are good. With him we are not. The stats prove this. If he does not play we do well. When he goes off we do well. When he plays we do not.

If you can't be arsed celebrating a last minute winner then you clearly can't be arsed generally. You cannot be as passive as he is there if you give a shit, surely. However, looking at it again it does look like he gets something in his eye, plus he's probably realised it's not his goal. He's a finisher, and hopefully he will come good soon.

His commitment to the club should not be questioned in my opinion. Some good lads have come through the system which has been blighted by lack of funds following the Moss/ Roberts era.
We have choices. We spend less on the first team or we rebuild slowly (which is what we are currently doing) to attract the better youngsters. League status will help enormously as we have found in the past.
Ultimately if we get one good kid through the system and into the first team every other year we will have done well. 99% of youngsters fail to make it.
My understanding is that we sell a number of 14-16 year olds on so the 99% stat is distorted. I know its not exact b of course. I wonder if were league 1 how many of these would stay and then break into the first team and then we either sell for more ££ or they save us bringing in others... I'm not sure on exact numbers though.

Three players who have signed for higher grade clubs from the youth setup i.e. Danny Ward - no first team matches for us, one appearance on loan for Tamworth and M-o-M; Jonno Smith - a few sub appearances, now on loan to AFC Fylde where he has been mainly on the bench; Jordan Davies, no first team matches, on loan to Bangor. They weren't of much, if any, actual playing benefit to Wrexham!

It’s also trite to pin the lack of funding on the Moss/Roberts era. It goes way before that and it’s largeiy irrelevant. Lack of funds does not influence the type of young lad recruited nor whether the emphasis is on skill or tactics etc. Some good players come through regardless because statistically it’s inevitable. My view is that young players at our club leave sooner rather than later because their success has been despite rather than because of.

You intimated that Joey was part of the problem. I'm not sure why you highlighted him. He worked under Andy Davies who is now Keates assistant.
As for lack of funding, The CoE has to stand on it's own with little funding from the club. This has caused the CoE to make charges and put all the costs on the parents and fundraisers.
Some good kids are being lost to Welsh League sides who are better funded from the Welsh FA.
