The lad was highly rated at youth level and clearly attracted interest from league clubs. Im fairly confident he was ready for our first team, especially when you consider who we had playing at the time. If you're good enough, you're old enough.

Exactly the same as Bradley Reid, Jordan Evans and others who have been highly rated. Not deemed good enough for the 1st team, picked up by league clubs and had 2/3 years development of the highest standard. Upon their return they have still been proven to be not good enough for this level

Most of the youngsters were sold at the first sign of any money - regardless of whether they had their heads turned.

Smith could and should have been given more games - didn't he play at Maccy and then wasn't seen after that for a lot of games.

I think Ward is the only one that has really impressed.

Yes he came on at Macc and was our best player on the pitch the time he was on.

Seems that we have often failed to see the strategic value in what we have.

Just imagine if Smith had been given more of an opportunity at that time - surely his value would have then increased.

Lets face it we didn't exactly have players banging down the managers door with performance after performance at the time.

I believe if you good enough then your old enough (and also if your not good enough then ship out LOL) and he was overlooked for a bunch of poor players.

Pagl before the grammar police jump in I think you mean.
If you're good enough then you're old enough, but yes I agree with the analogy, but having said that fans need to expect that young player to make mistakes as he learns the game, something our fans don't seem to understand eg: Marx who is barely 18.

It was Mills who wouldn't play him.

Hopefully some money on our way if QPR make a move for Moult in January.

Yeh - it was more about the strategic nature of the decision - something the WAFC board should be doing hand in hand with the manager.
