In fact every time we have lost we have won the next game so hoping that obvious fighting quality continues

Frustrating but not disastrous and I fully expect us to make amends on Sat. Don't think we've lost back to back games this season?

Main and only real criticism of Manny is that he is not vocal. Decent defender but hes just a quiet person on and off the pitch. One thing that worries me is that at the start of the season we were saying how many leaders we had in the squad. Bar Pearson that's not looking the case.

Exactly. Jennings just needs to concentrate on his own game as his vocals tend to be moaning at other players when he needs to get his own game in order. I think we would be better with him and Rutherford on the left though (yes point made so many times).

There is no leadership from midfield as going forward it is bypassed most of the time and I think we suffer from Keates having no Keates in midfield (yes another point made numerous times).

I am concerned over RM as Mackreth is on the edges and I think his game is inconsistent hence his limited but sometimes effective cameos - typical supersub.

Then we have the front 2 being asked to play a style that doesn't suit.

IMO we are more suited to 433 or possibly even 532 - I prefer 442 but think you have to play to strengths and not shoehorn players into a style that does not fit.

Just my opinions though.

That’s the word I've been seaching for about what seems to be many of the posts on here after our first league defeat in 11...........farcical.

See what happens when you don’t start Carrington in midfield?

CBs - best pairing in the league but need experienced cover as Marx has concerns so maybe he needs to go out on loan or learn to communicate.

Midfield - lack of creativity shown by the lack of passing that goes through the middle. Wedgbury is little more than an average stopper, Wright is the pick of the bunch, Kelly seems to have the ability to provide creativity but is lost of the left. Rutherford should be LM for balance and work rate but still doesn't provide much creativity. Mackreth nothing more than a bit part player.
Hurst seems to have many yet no real positions.

Forwards - only Holroyd has shown any desire or ability, the others are not suited to the long ball holding game and are not showing much desire for the fight.

Other teams are improving - maybe in only 1 or 2 positions but improving nonetheless. If DK continues to ignore the problems I fear a slide down the league and also have major concerns for the forthcoming derby with a team with no fight.

Sounds a bit like we need to rip it up and start again.

We have made great strides in the right direction.

I know that is not what you mean, but we are, where we are, moving in the right direction. Yes a couple of re-inforcements may just give us an added boost, so we can consolidate our good start, but DK has 90% of his squad in the building and he needs to get the best he can from them. Players slated regularly on here have got us into the top 3, after a shaky start, so why can't they kick on, on the back of the stability DK is looking to create and hard work on the training ground.
I would imagine DK would like to be able to change a few players with the benefit of hindsight, but so would all the other managers but that is not feasible or wise at this stage.

It is not always about the size of the budget or pay packets, the majority is about organisation, hard work, team spirit and above all 'wanting it'.

Weeks ago the thought was 2 players could/would make a difference but now it seems that we have lot more underperformers.

I am wondering whether the DK comments about players getting things off their chests last night is a bit of discontent with some selections - ooops rumour mills started

What I do know is Keates prefers 442 and Darlo 433 and whilst this is probably not a management collision it must have a knock on effect on the training ground as it is 2 totally different approaches.

442 is about 2 banks of 4 with players clearly knowing their roles - something that is clearly not happening. Whereas 433 requires more flexibility and use of the fullbacks as the midfield is narrowed.

A smaller squad should have meant more quality but DK struggled in the forward department completely in the summer and I think Boden, Massanka and Reid have all been mistakes that have cost us dearly.

Hopefully DKs reluctance to address this means he is looking to get it right in Jan but I think that's a long shot.

Not enough competition and too much complacency setting in for my liking.

The trouble for me is why are they not inspired by the fans , a club who's fans give and give and total support home and away .
