Cartwright home to Wigan Athletic in the LDV area final 2nd leg (Already 2-0 down from the 1st leg)

Long hopeful Wigan ball over the top in the first 3 minutes, Cartwright charges 5 yards outside his area to meet it and passes it directly to a bemused Wigan player in the centre circle who proceeded to lob the ball over Cartwright's head and into an empty net.

First and only ever time I've left a game after 3 minutes, went to the Turf and got smashed.

Remember that match - having lost 2 - 0 in the first leg there was still high expectation we could turn it around - but as you say hopes were destroyed in the first few minutes - think Wigan went on to win on the night 1 - 3.

Not a howler that cost us a goal but do you remember Cartwright in an FA Cup tie at the Racecourse v Huddersfield ? Came out to punch a cross away, missed and punched a Huddersfield striker instead - pretty sure he broke his jaw - game ended 1 - 1 and we lost the replay 2 - 1.

Cartwright only ever had one good game for us - Manchester City away (0 - 0).

Coddington is definately 3rd choice at Northampton , according to my Cobblers supporting friend !!
