See absolutely no reason why the "John Neal Stand sponsored by Hays Travel " would not be beneficial for both parties. Works for other clubs.

I do agree with the sentiment, wafc1926, the counter argument from a marketing perspective is that something like "John Neal Stand sponsored by Hays Travel " doesn't roll of the tongue, and if a company is paying money, they want their companies name head and centre.

I think perhaps its better not to embark down the route of using former players or fans names because it sparks the debate of who you use and who you leave out.

Arfon Griffiths would probably not be a popular choice in some quarters due to his allegiance with Moss in later years.

Better to leave it as a commercial decision unless the sponsor actually wishes to incorporate somebody of their choice within the naming.

As Yalestander pointed out - in reality, putting sentiment aside it doesn't bring in the finance.

We have a high maintenance 3 sided stadium - the money needs to roll in to maintain what we have and hopefully one day have a viable 4th side.
