I think you are right - it was a question of character as opposed to ability. I used to think that Jos made the odd clanger because he was genuinely bored !

I’ve also no doubt Jos was the more natural keeper in many senses. I don’t know how a coach works on “brain farts” as an issue though. Call it what you like - boredom, concentration - you either want to improve that aspect or you don’t. I do think he was hard done by in that a number of things over which he had no control were attributed as his errors out of habit by fans. That’s what I don’t get re: Dunn. Two obvious weaknesses - kicking and communication. He’s wanting to be a coach but doesn’t appear to be doing any work on his own issues. Maxi definitely heard the word on his issues and simply got his head down and fixed it.

EPL keeper - I am not so sure but I hope so for him.

Correct me if I`m wrong but hasn`t Jos got the record for most clean sheets ? I thought he was a fantastic keeper on his day , on an off day he was scary /

Nor me. I'm with you all the way on the Jos/Maxi debate. In terms of natural ability I do think Mayebi was the better keeper so it's mayebi another example of what's between the ears that counts. A mate of mine is a golf pro who now competes for pretty much pennies, his mate ( who had nowhere near the same talent, ranking etc) has just won on the European Tour and is now financially set for life and that's down to the little grey cells and a work ethic, talent only takes you so far.

Delighted that Maxi is doing well. Although I was in the Mayebi camp all those years ago I would say and said at the time that the Maxwell we had back on loan was different gravy compared to the one that left, he was mightily impressive.

Maxi will get at least half a game in the upcoming Wales friendlies. I'm expecting him to start against Panama.
