Stewards and police were not helpful; more content to stand around looking important rather than being proactive and fending off problems such as this before they begin.

Thanks Terry, I'll make further enquiries as to how he was unable to get parked then!

It has always been a shambles. 1 turnstile open for each stand despite knowing number of tickets sold. Poor use of the car park behind south stand where bubble buses previously parked. Could be done so much easier and better and then escort buses cars out to Sealand road as previous and bus those on train straight back to station.

Takes away most of the potential flash points and allows police to concenttate resources where needed. I wonder who is in charge of planning.

I wondered much the same, the police just appear clueless and arrogant. If they planned a bit better and let fans know in advance what's happening and why it would save so much I'll feeling.
Why on earth were a load of innocent peaceable fans funnelled through a tiny gap at the end of a load of police vans with random police officers apparently deliberately getting in the way.

Also, why the hell were so many fans stopped from sitting where they wanted? It nearly kicked off before kick off because of it.

The safety committee I expect and the police aspects will have been under overall control of a match commander. On the face of it his plans to control fans walking from the station and city centre and the official buses behind them failed miserably. Wonder if he knew how many turnstiles would be open when everybody arrived at once? So much easier to drive by car, park up early and get into the ground at leisure . I know not everyone has a car but they should be looking for a lift in one next time ?

Again if they'd let fans know what was going to happen and why there would have been so much less grief.

I think it was to try to stop overcrowding in the section nearest the Chester fans, but a bit of communication instead of a load of pushing and shoving would have been such a better option.

Intrigued by that as I was going to say the opposite. I arrived with my Chester mate and at both ends of the game had no problem getting the police to let me through their lines. I have stewarded that game and been battered out of the way by arrogant aggressive coppers but my experience was totally different this time. I guess we all only have a limited view of the overall picture. Nothing I saw or heard, including from a few Chester fans leads me to believe there is a case for the return of the bubble. We shall see
