Think this is where a youth policy comes in.,.Home grown players, obviously of a good standard, firstly, save a lot of money, get you in a good position in the division..Then, probably, and hopefully a now stable Football League club....A fair transfer fee....

Of course... That's easier said than done......We don't seem to have been that good at it for a while...

If we do get any half decent youngsters, bigger clubs either come and take them or if they play them get slaughtered like Marx.

It is a 2 year project, we are well ahead as it wasn't expected for us to be targeting promotion this season. We can of course get promoted this season and in January try if possible to strengthen the squad. That's easier said than done, so let's not cause a storm in a tea cup of things don't work out that way.

I think playing with little expectation of promotion by the coaching staff and fans this season is certainly working in our favour.

Indeed, wasn't even a visible route to the first team not long back. Have a visible route and lads will stick around, those in the Welsh age squads are encouraged to play 1st team football at any level, which can only help us if we start encouraging the same.

We also don't try hard enough to try and keep players, again Darlington could help with this. The dual qualified are encouraged to attended England camps if called up to see what it's all about, none of those who've recently done so have swapped camps. We should be finding out more and looking to implement our own methods.

That maybe your opinion but the majority of fans expect a challenge and I would expect DK and a lot of players are as well.

Agree. We all expect to challenge but at what cost?
We all know we are short of probably 2 midfield players and a forward.
These places aren't easily filled on short term deals and we have to have some reserves in the bank to ensure we can meet the commitment to 2 year deals etc.
If we get through to January and are still competitive I believe that we will try to strengthen the side but we won't be throwing all the money at it.
We have to attract the right players, not just anyone that comes up on the message board and the management have to be happy with the acquisitions.

A few thought we missed out on Archer, from what I saw of him in the derby match he's pretty much all bluster. Some effort but little quality and wouldn't add to our side. We need better and that'll cost.
