Re: Pre-Match Thread - Ebbsfleet (H)
I would play Holroyd up front but none of the other strikers are doing enough to claim the shirt that partners him.
Boden has the best touch and control but seems weak - Massanka can't win a header but has the energy - Reid started well for the first few games but has faded dramatically hence being replaced by Massanka recently. Ironically whilst Holroyd was out injured the best partnership looked to be Massanka & Reid. |

Re: Pre-Match Thread - Ebbsfleet (H)
Kelly needs to improve his decision making first; he dwells or chooses the wrong ball far too often.
As with the majority of Keates' attacking signings I've found him disappointing.

Re: Pre-Match Thread - Ebbsfleet (H)
Literally come to the fact lately that other than put back 4 we are shite. Yes I know we are 3rd somehow, but can you really say we are going to stay there? We can't even keep hold of the football. Some of them get payed a grand a week and they can't look after the ball, pass, head. Do we actually have a player who gets at defenders and gets the ball in the box? Mackreth whenever he feels like turning up like against Eastleigh but that's it. Not convinced on wedgebury anymore, seems slow, can't pass, hot headed. Other than defence and maybe Wright and Holroyd we look poor. If I was Ebbsfleet this weekend i'd attack us from the off and keep at it for 90 minutes.
The only tactic we actually have, is to sit deep and lump the ball forward. Is that really what we practice in training every day? It's frustrating because if we had may be 3 quality players more and we'd run this league. For the prediction this weekend, our luck will run out soon. Ebbsfleet looked good last weekend against Leyton Orient so expect a loss. 2-0. Just over 4k there |

The thing that gets me is yes we are 3rd in the table behind 2 other rebuilt sides Dover & Macclesfield, apart from Dover Macc don't have a pot to piss in. How many think Macclesfield will finish high enough to make the play offs? They start off well every season a very good manager with a small budget, but that small budget come the business end of the season costs them because of a squad not big enough of good players to cope, it's all very well riding high in November, come the Xmas period plus the Fa Trophy and squads start to get stretched, heavier winter grounds & injuries become harder to get over, remember us riding high when we had the opposite a team that scored for fun, entertained the first season under Mills, loss Of form and to much booze over Xmas and the wheels come off, the new year we couldn't score goals after our top scorer and main creator was sold to Ssilly billyhorpe. So this season while we're all made up to be third in November it would only take a run of poor form lose 2 or 3 games & we could end us outside the play offs, their is not that much of a gap between top and mid to lower table. With a small squad like we have who are held together by 2 solid centre backs and a defensive midfield it will only take a couple of injuries or suspensions to the rocks at the back and all this rejoicing could blow up in our faces, being a side that rarely puts any decent attacks together & can't score even open goals we are becoming to reliant on the defence, the philosophy of defending they say is " Attack is the best form of defence" Teams that chase promotion do not stand still and settle for what they have, good sides keep looking to improve and teams that usually get promoted build a fortress at home, equal lowest scorers in the league does now bode well. I don't think Ebbsfleet have enough to beat us but when do we ever look like scoring? Like many others I predict a 1:0 victory but with the possibility of a 0:0 The faithful will still be there to the tune of 3,929 with 31 away fans COYR |
