Re: Ratings vs Ebbsfleet
Dunn was a lot better today and kept us at 1-0 with the save.
Roberts is still hesitant and gets caught out when in 2 minds - crossing poor. Manny and Pearson solid as usual and Carra great job at LB. Wedgbury plenty or work but often poor decision making and poor passing, Wright drifted in and out a bit too much today and needs to be involved more as can be very effective. Rutherford again worked hard but wasted the ball in good positions - for me would give us more balance at LM. Kelly is comfortable on the ball and has great control but wasted at LM. Holroyd again showed that it really is up to the forwards to get into positions to take chances - tries to link the play. Reid - he won a couple of headers second half but really a waste of a shirt and thankfully next week is his last. Massanka made a nuisance of himself and created the penalty situation, Mackreth seems a waste of a sub and would rather have seen Boden given 10 minutes with Holroyd put on the right. |

Re: Ratings vs Ebbsfleet
I was right behind the goal bound shot, looked in all the way, great save Dunnie
Came for crosses and punched a few corners away. At least a 7 from me Good alround performance, slightly more attack minded today. Crying out for a target man. Everyone of our goal kicks are won be the opposition defenders and the ball simply comes back at us - it’s well documented that Deane is on the case |

Re: Ratings vs Ebbsfleet
Dunn 8 - for that save alone. That goes in and heads would have dropped.
Roberts 7 - got forward more than normal 1st half. A couple of crosses, not sure any could be described as begging to be put away. Let a few crosses come in too easily Carrington 7 - beaten a few times. Made a few decent challenges. Steady Smith 8.5 edged motm for me for his through ball for the goal. Dominant in the air Pearson 8 same as smith. Just wish he'd get it into his head he is not a ball playing centre half. Good captains display though Wedgebury 7 got his foot in a few times. Sat off too deep at others Wright 7.5 - strong and looked to push forward Kelly - 5 - not impressed today. Faded in and out and created little Rutherford 6.5 - worked hard created little and should have buried the chance 1st half but bottled it a fked it up Holroyd 7.5 - yes he scored 2 but didn't feel he was as influential on the match as Pearson and manny. Reid 6.5 - faded badly and will get judged (wrongly) on his last 10 minutes on the pitch. He won a good few headers and put in a great ball for holroyd 1st half. Posted via mobile theme |

Re: Ratings vs Ebbsfleet
Dunn 8.5
Had a difficult time in recent weeks but today from start to finish was virtually faultless - never put a foot wrong. Caught a few, punched a few to clear and pulled off a stupendous first half save diving low to his right to push a very good goal bound shot around the post. Decent kicking either on the floor or out of his hands. Came a bit too close first half and almost got caught in possession instead of clearing the ball earlier. Roberts 7 A solid performance and nullified the wide threat down the Ebbsfleet left flank - picked up a dubious yellow card but clearly won the ball well before there was contact with the opposing player. M Smith 7 Solid defensive foundation - a rock alongside Pearson in the centre of defence. Downside is his distribution - heading it as hard and as far as he can is not always the best option - a placed header and retaining possession would be better - but was defensively sound. Pearson 8 Managed Kedwell very well and severely restricted him - orchestrates the defence - today there was far less hoofball and we played the ball out from the back frequently through Pearson. Carrington 7 Defensively sound and played the Ebbsfleet wide men out of the game for the majority of the game - a very able deputy for the injured Jennings and looks a better defensive option - let down by a number of overhit passes when in promising positions. The very dangerous winger Weston was kept extremely quiet. Kelly 7 Played out on the flank of midfield - industrious and tries to move the ball forward when possible. Wright 7.5 Provided the strength in midfield along with Wedgbury - some good work that often goes unnoticed Wedgbury 9 Solid display - harried and chased lost balls down both in defence and going forward - my pick of the midfielders today. Rutherford 7.5 High workrate - ran at opposition and provides good defensive cover too. Holroyd 8 Ran his socks off and was the match winner - was for much of the game isolated and needs a solid partner working closer to him. The few players in this squad that can make a match winning difference. Reid 3 A truly dreadful performance - was the odd man out today. Could have been taken off much earlier than he lasted and should have been - was totally ineffective and seemed to watch the match pass him by - poor challenges to win the ball and no desire to close defenders down. Half hearted challenges - a shadow of the player who arrived at the start of his loan period - what has happened to him ? Subs Massanka 8 - replaced Reid Made a massive difference - energy in abundance and chased everything down to the death - ultimately his workrate eventually won the penalty - did more in one minute than Reid did all match - his effort assisted to bring Holroyd into the game more - fantastic effort in the short time he was on the pitch. Mackreth 7 - replaced Kelly Not on very long but offers some impact in coming on late with a new fresh pair of legs that ran hard at Ebbsfleet - was slightly unfortunate with a couple of runs when the ball ran from him - a decent corner taker. Dibble / Hurst / Boden - all unused |

Re: Ratings vs Ebbsfleet
Think Kelly is poor. Slowed the attacks down. No creativity. Makes the easy pass usually backwards - often to a defender to hoof. Doesn't challenge. Can't run. I won't go on. There is no comparison to Rutherford and his industry on the other side.

Re: Ratings vs Ebbsfleet
Dunn 7 super save first half, good punching too. Rooted to his line second half.
Robert 6 steady Smith 8 excellent Pearson 8 excellent Carrington 7 solid. Extra point for being out of position Rutherford 6 decent Wright 8 motm. He was the reason we passed it better Wedge 8 I really rate him and he is so important defensively Kelly 6 solid Holroyd 8 two goals. Well played Reid 5 a couple of nice touches but going through motions a lot Subs Massanka great show off the bench I thought Mackreth ok, Posted via mobile theme |
