Congy red thinks they work but seems to base that on Jennings ability to cross the ball - which is just a small part. Neither Jennings/Kelly can take players on and get in behind and for me they don't work together. Kelly doesn't really make space for Jennings he merely runs out of steam and waits for him to catch up .

Its about opinions though and for me Rutherford is better at LM than he is at RM - he still does not get to the by-line and cross the ball but at least he does the box to box work and provides an outlet.

The hope and need for 2nd half of the season is at least 2 better quality players. We know budget is there for at least 1 and the WST plans for Christmas raffle should fund the 2nd and DK himself can free up some money with Reid returning and hopefully Boden out on loan for a 3rd.

Maybe Roly Poly Father Christmas could sign up to be our centre forward? Some seen to like the fat unfit slow player's for that position because they look big 😂😂😂

I thought yesterday was a deserved win, not a lucky win. It was also the first game where two fairly small changes look like having a long term positive impact on our attacking play.

I first saw Roberts play for us in the Nantwich friendly. He looked like a very good crosser of the ball and a competent footballer. I think he showed that yesterday. His combination with Rutherford looks like it might develop into a genuine attacking threat.

Kelly has started to drift inside more. It hasn't produced anything spectacular, and was pretty ineffective at Chester, but I'm starting to believe that, with Jennings fit, they will form another reasonably potent threat. Kelly has got some magic in his boots, but probably not enough to dazzle from the centre.

I haven't been impressed with the little changes over the first half ,but I think there is now hope for better attacking. With a better player replacing Massanka/Reid WOW!!!
You've changed your tune Congy after the last thread! Some might say you've had a bit of a road to damascus moment! Glad you've seen the light

To be fair Parkin and Rhead have done well at this level consistently and I wouldn't mind Rhead in the side this season.

As someone else said, Byron Harrison up top would be quality imo, or Matt Rhead but I can't see him leaving Lincoln, seems firmly in the Cowley's plans.

I have seen a little bit of light, I would still prefer 4-3-3.
