If he has not impressed in training might as well give Freeman a run out , looked lively in pre season.

He needs to show that ability when the ball comes out of the air, 25 yards from goal with a 6'4" brute climbing all over him.
The situation you describe shouldn't arise if he was being used properly.

The gloves thing......Jesus I really hate to see it, the same as that neck thing.....

If a player is wearing either they are not putting enough effort in to get themselves warm. Ie they need to run harder and longer. Football is full of Nancy boys who don't want to get their shirt dirty and just worry about their hair getting out of place.

Don't even start me on coloured boots.....

Well Stafford Red, I went to the Chester match and saw Boden come on with 20 minutes to go. I remarked to my mate that Boden will now run around like his life depended on it. After all, he is a professional and after a week in training, it’s the least that fans could expect. Needless to say, he didn’t bust a gut, hence my views on him.

Any player wearing gloves other than keepers should be released immediately, it’s that simple.

Lobbing the ball in the air towards him, whilst marked by a 6'4" defender is never going to work.

Agree, it would be better if Alan the Kit Man interrupted play to bring him some slippers, a cup of tea and a nice part warmed Eccles cake. I’m sure he would momentarily show a bit of life and interest if that happened.
