I assume you are joking? If not you are one very HORRIBLE person..... I'm very lucky that I haven't been in the situation that I have needed the food bank. Some people aren't so lucky. I hope for your sake you don't make a couple of bad turns (divorce, lose your job & someone close to you is ill) because if you do I hope someone is as horrible to you.

The food bank does an amazing job & I know me & my Mrs will be giving as much as we can this Christmas so family's can have as good a Christmas as they can.

Keep up the good work

Hear what you’re saying Birdy, but mainly I think fags and booze with money needed for food....but I think who am I to judge, we all have our vices, for some people those things keep them calm, or offer a slight escape.
I once went through a break up, and I was on the bones of my arse for a year, scraping things out of the cupboard to eat.
So all I can do is not judge really, and I gathered a large carrier bag with tinned food etc in, last week, and felt a right nob when I rechecked the club email and it said the Maidenhead game not the Ebbsfleet game. Doh. Oh well, I will add to the bag in the next fortnight, and take it along them instead.

Nice one. I'm not saying there are not people who are not in need of it obviously there are. Its just people who have jobs and still use foodbanks is a bit of a cheek imo. Maybe they are having a tight month and as you say who are we to judge (obv I already have according to some people!) but they are using it when someone else who will need it more than them may miss out.

It's not people on benefits who use foodbanks mainly it's people on not contract hours who don't know what hours they will get from one week to the next & can't claim benefits.

They need enlightening Birdy and you could be the one to do it. Why don't you pop down and impart your words of wisdom to help them get themselves out of the situation they're in where they are relying on the generosity of others to get by.

There isn't enough well paid jobs for everyone, is there? The minimum wage is less than the living wage. Ergo, some people struggle.

It's sad how many people are actually against people earning more money because they don't think their job is worthy. See the reaction because a few McDonalds employees wanted to go on strike a few months ago.
