Default Wrexham's game management

Something that's struck me over these past 2 home matches is how well this team manage a game for the full 90 minutes +.

Some people moaned when we went to the corner at 2-0 up and 4 minutes to play on Saturday , but imagine we lost possession, got caught on the break and conceded. How uncomfortable would those last 3 minutes have been ?

Tonight noticed Carrington play the old head when winning a free kick right on half time , pretended to talk to another player while the ball was kicked intentionally past him eating up about 20 valuable seconds.

Pearson frantically waves on the Solihull trainer deep into the second half to attend an injured player as if he'd been shot when clearly he wanted to take the whole team to the dugout for a 30 second pep talk as we were under pressure.

Clearly we are a very streetwise and organised team and it's paying massive dividends

My guess is that Mr Darlington is having a big impact on this side of our game

Who knows where it might take us ?

Back to the Kop good post in general, I was one who complained about taking the ball into the corner at 2-0 up Saturday, but you are wrong their was 4 mins added time and the time wasting was half way through it barely 2 mins left if 1-0 up I would agree but they wouldn't score 2 goals in less than 2 mins where as we could of scored a 3rd from the corner negative football, trust the best defence in the league.

Getting the points was all that mattered saturday..Taking the ball to corner was wise move...especially as there is noone up front who can hold the ball up..
We hardly ever score two and now we are complaining we don't get three

Totally twisting my post where do I complain we don't score 3? Getting the points is important in any game I did point out taking to corner 1-0 up I understand but 2-0 up less than 2 mins to go with a solid defence and fans wonder why we are amongst the lowest scorers in the league.

It's took us almost ten seasons to play the conference way. You need to be a horrible team to play against, not just with the ball but without it. Keates' signings all seem to have that bit of nouse that you need at this level.

If we'd have adopted shithouse tactics earlier who knows what would have happend. We were too nice, for too long.

Only two teams have ever really impressed me playing good football. Both times under Gary Mills. York went up but Gateshead never.

Luck doesn't happen for 20+ games. You get the rub of the green when you're doing well sometimes of course. But it's down to the players and staff for their game management. 1 loss in 16 isn't luck.

I couldn't care less if we're one of the leagues lowest scorers and waste time as long as we stay top. Going to the corner to waste time is great game management when winning, no idea why people complain about it.

We have some savvy players who know what to do during a game and make the right decisions. It comes with experience obviously. There’s a lot of subtle things that we do regularly, we do the basics right everytime.

We know when to kill a game and what to do to disrupt it. There’s no chance we will ever be naive during a game. We must be horrible to play against.
