Spirit crushing negativity in the Mold Road

Maybe this is controversial to some, maybe it's stating the bloody obvious to others but just wanted to get it off my chest.

Okay so for a change I sat in the Uni end on Tuesday night. I'm usually in the Mold Road and have been for a few years. Thought I'd get a different angle on proceedings and it was an interesting change but not so much because of the pitch orientation.

The main thing that struck me was the positive vibes and atmosphere within the stand. Fans roaring encouragement at our players. It felt fantastic not to be surrounded by grumbles and moans and dissenting voices effing and jeffing at different players and hearing various monologues about how crap this or that player is. In short it was a breath of fresh air. I feel this negativity almost spreads like a virus in certain parts of the ground. I hate to think what the atmosphere in the ground would be like without those behind the goal. I think we are at the point in he season where we should all be shouting encouragement at this team yet the mold rd (in general) still seems to sit stony faced in judgement in many games waiting to collectively roar in exasperation of a misplaced pass.

Is it time to get positive and show the players some more love? Or am I a happy clapper and don't understand how truly terrible we are playing and how people have paid to be allowed to moan etc?

The irony of moaning about the moaners.

Up the town! :hurray:

I have to admit red passion seems to reflect this negative element too. I know we all want promotion but it really doesn't help the players, on here or at the game. Keep happy clapping I say.

I don't think that your views are new, Wrexham fans have always been fickle and sometimes very hard on players, I believe in general it is constructive to have different viewpoints, Provided the opinions expressed openly at games are not too nasty or vile ,There is no harm in most comments made by supporters anywhere in the ground.

It's called the Moan Road Stand for a very, very good reason.

Couldn't believe what I was seeing when masses of people left the mold road stand after the added time board went up. Firstly, at 1-0 there's every chance for the game to change even at the death and secondly, we just went top of the league. Do the team not deserve an applause from all areas of the ground for that?

Yeah it's sad that some don't want that moment of applauding a Wrexham team that's top of the league. It's not exactly been a regular occurrence over the years.

I think I'd just forgotten what a stark difference their is. Maybe the club should run an exchange program between the two stands.
