Well, love it or loathe it - the Trophy is back - a chance to progress to Wembley and celebrate a promotion season or the catalyst to fixture congestion, suspensions, injuries and ultimate failure - what does everybody want ?

The 3rd Round qualifying ties took place today.

The draw for the 1st Round takes place this coming Monday.

In the Northern Section of the draw in addition to the National League clubs will be the following clubs who have reached this stage of the competition.

Brackley Town
York City
Spennymoor Town
Chorley FC
Tamworth or Warrington Town
Telford United
Gainsborough Trinity
Bradford Park Avenue or Stourbridge
Boston United or Kidderminster Harriers
Nuneaton Town
Stockport County or Southport
Blyth Spartans
Glossop North End or Workington AFC
Altrincham
Leamington FC
Lancaster City
Marine FC
Harrogate

First Round ties will be played on Saturday 16 December.

Round 2 - Saturday 13 January - (no fixture clash)
Round 3 - Saturday 3 February - Guiseley (A)
Round 4 - Saturday 24 February - Aldershot Town (H)
Semi final 1st leg - Saturday 17 March - Woking (A)
Semi final 2nd leg Saturday 24 March - Maidstone United (H)
Finals Day at Wembley Stadium (Trophy & Vase) - Sunday 20 May

As Mark Griffiths once said in his well written Leader column : “The FA Trophy is about as much use as trying to push a pea up Marford Hill.”

We need to play a reserve / youth side and treat it as match practice and nothing else.
