Default Re: Pre contract agreements ??

Need a striker in January as this league is the worst I've seen it for a long while , only goes to show with our current position and with poor forwards , a striker like Christian doidge of forest Green who did well last season in this league . Think we would then push on and get automatic instead of the play off lottery.

my guess after reading above

sign Pre-Contract in January to actually sign as OUR player in the Summer (not that it may mean much as some appear to go out of their way to state).

But, Also, Both present parent clubs Loan those said players to us in January, for the remainder of the season

Only makes sense if we loan Dibble out, paying 3 goalkeepers is madness.
It would only be for half a season worst case. If someone of Coddington's quality becomes available and your current number one is iffy then personally I think it's a no brainer. Loan both current keepers out and promote a youth keeper to sit on the bench if needs be, just get him in the building.

I'm hopeful that we'll improve in January but Leaves has too much to do. I'd happily see the back of Mackreth, Kelly, Boden and Massanka.

We need wingers as much as strikers.
They can back out of these if they get a better offer so there not the be all and end all. I think we've had a player do that to us in the past.

If these are coming in Jan Coddington whilst a good signing isn't what we need. We need two quality strikers and a midfielder minimum not another keeper.

With Massanka and Reid leaving if we signed Quigley in loan and somebody like Cook/Rhead that would be a huge improvement.
Coddington would be a fantastic signing and would probably mean Dunn leaving.
York would also be a good signing , because as we know he has a habit of scoring goals from out wide.
I can’t see us signing more than 4 players.

I wont name names but have been told from two separate sources that we have made agreements to bring FOUR players into the squad in January.

One is a keeper.

One is a L2 striker.

Two are National League strikers - one of which is at Gateshead but is not Wes York.

If only half of these signings land then it will be a massive improvement - if all four arrive then the second half of the season will be extremely interesting.

Only concern - no mention by anyone of a midfielder - perhaps Wright will be retained for the whole season - we still have squad versatility in the form of Carrington and Leo Smith who can be drafted in but upfront we are struggling big time.

I'm sure DK knows our limitations and will do all he can to remedy the problem in January.

I’ve heard that we are going to make another attempt to get you know who in January and if not , an agreement will be made for him to sign on for next season.
