Well the fact the game is essentially a massive spreadsheet, it makes perfect sense.

From an interview I listened to. Back in the days of Cherno Samba this sort of mistake was easy to make.

Obviously they had stats for 0-20 for shooting, pace, stamina etc but behind that in the software they also had a had a current ability stat of 0-100.

Then they had future potential stat

-1 Would go on to become a decent/ good footballer
-2 Would go on to become a world class international footballer.

And that current ability stat would continue to rise and rise and rise. Cherno was -2.

These days these are less likely to happen as that future potential stat now go from -1 to -10, which means it can be measured more accurately.

Sure, from the perspective of the game it does. But the guy's a human being at the end of the day, not a virtual football player. Not very nice to be told you're a data error.
