A plea from the club re smoke bombs / flares
https://www.wrexhamafc.co.uk/news/ba...w-your-support For those fans following the Club to Macclesfield (and there will be another impressive following of us there!), can you please keep the following in mind. Although we understand how the passion of Wrexham scoring a goal can carry good sense away, can fans please refrain from letting off smoke bombs? Unfortunately, as we have already found out, the actions of a very tiny number of fans are also damaging the Club’s chances of promotion. The money for fines that follow such actions has to come from somewhere - throwing flares and smoke bombs costs money that would otherwise have been spent on improving the team’s prospects. Further incidents will only increase the possible fines and lead to more sanctions. We have recently had the FAW disciplinary results following on from actions at the Tranmere game, and the activation of a suspended fine from Chester away last season. Following the throwing of a smoke bomb and other objects on to the pitch, along with ‘fans’ entering the field of play, we were fined £1,650. Added to which, the Club still has another charge to face from the visit to Chester and the release of a smoke bomb after our goal was scored, which is likely to result in another £500 fine (the standard FAW figure for this offence). So, straight away, the playing budget is down over £2,000. I would suggest that anyone who is responsible for such actions thinks very carefully about their future actions and the damage you are doing to the Club’s ambitions. If identified, you will also find that you may face criminal prosecution, and subsequent bans from football completely, as well as fellow fans finding out who has cost the Club their hard-earned money. Is it worth it? You’d be a better fan of the club by using the money spent buying these pyrotechnics on club Christmas Raffle tickets - as all that money goes in to our Build the Budget fund, and so straight to Dean’s recruitment efforts. We ALL want to celebrate a Wrexham victory and, hopefully, make a habit of it, but please do so by using your voice, we know how loud we can be! John Mills Director – Wrexham AFC |

Boils down to the fact that the club has stated directly that this type of "support" is in no way welcomed. Anyone who does this is doing it directly for themselves and their little brains for a couple of seconds amusement. They're kidding themselves if they think it is support. Cretins.
