Re: Debt
Whilst not being the biggest fan of fan ownership, it does have it's merits..Knowing every penny the club generates, stays with the club rests easy in the mind. Also, the board appear to be doing a sound financial job running the club...The aqasition of the Racecourse lease, five acre, Summer concerts, as well as other financial initiatives...
The problem is, how do you finance a team capable of climbing the Leagues, without accumulating debt. Short of a daft millionaire coming along, a productive youth accadamy, or simply a brilliant team manager....Not sure what the answer is..

Re: Debt
A productive youth academy or brilliant manager need not be beyond us. Maybe Dean Keates is that brilliant manager; the club did the right thing in giving him a control of sufficient length to be that man. A productive youth academy shouldn't be beyond us either but the club refuses to look at its deficiencies (assisted by fans who won't see a penny go anywhere but first team wages).

That's my point really we can't even afford a reserve side let alone have enough players to be in one, we can't rely on the fans charity forever we need to find other ways of funding the playing side. Posted via mobile theme |

I don't think you can, the romantic notion that you build up slowly just doesn't work anymore. The problem is yes you could go with a plan to slowly build the club up to a point but with the money getting thrown into football now when you get there a lot of other clubs will have over took us. Short term a decent FA cup run would be the best we could hope for a decent cash injection like Dover and Lincoln last season. Even then there no guarantee it would be enough to get the job done. |

What I actually mean is DK has put the money from a reserve side into a better alleged quality first team squad, but nowhere for players who aren't getting a game anywhere is hampering our side I think, when a player is called up not played a game in weeks they aren't going to be matchfit look at Hurst Saturday he has played occasionally but was puffing like a 100 a day smoker after 45 mins, Massanka is the same he runs flat out chasing everything for 15-20 mins then he looked knackered.
