With due respect they are playing for 5th place. No way they will make the top 3 unless they have a great run of results. After the cup defeat I think the bubble has burst, after all it's mostly the same team that just about avoided relegation last season.

Here’s hoping
So if he signs a pre contract to sign in June he won't be putting much effort in as he won't want any injury putting the move in jeopardy??
I am sure if there is cash on the table Motherwell will have to face facts and sell him on.
Louis doesn't seem the type to muck about so I expect him to move on in Jan for whatever club bids the highest. Derby, Preston and QPR all interested means a decent deal all round. With the fortunes on offer in the premiershite £500k is small fry if Loius scores the goals to get them there from Jan onwards....

A move would seem on the cards simply based on money that Motherwell need to repay and its their last chance to cash in. Fingers crossed

I am quite surprised that no-one has come in with £1m which isnt a lot in todays money as he has shown that he scores goals. I was hoping last nights £101m Euro was coming my way and we could afford him for a couple of years - LOL.

I really hope he gets a move not just for our sell on but for him as he was superb for us and seems a really nice guy that has worked hard to get his career back on track.

Now the story is out ready for January, watch the bids start coming in. He could earn what Preston are offering and earn himself some transfer money on top if he goes January. Rangers fans are fuming their club is missing out and paying more on wages for their strikers. Watch this space.

There was no offer from Rangers. It largely seemed to be paper talk, same with the Celtic stuff.

The only formal offer for Moult was from Aberdeen, which was knocked back with no follow up. Both the manager and Chief Operating Officer confirmed that.

It was unlikely that he'd ever have been going to Aberdeen tbh, they wouldn't pay anything close to what Motherwell wanted and truth is Motherwell's sales pitch to players doesn't involve saying "if you give us a couple of seasons you could move to a side in the same league." rather it's about presenting the club as a platform to moving to the Championship (which is what happened with Marvin Johnson via Oxford, Ben Heneghan along with quite a few others).

Correct in so much as Motherwell are playing for 5th, 4th at an absolute push but it's hardly the same team that avoided relegation. A few of the better players, like Moult, Cadden and McHugh are still there but there was a huge player turnover during the summer. Something like 20 players left during the summer with 17 coming in.

It's an entirely new defence that's been brought in, along with a new goalkeeper.

Moult out injured for a month, so he might have played his last game for Motherwell. It says in the article attached below that Motherwell's first game in 2018, isn't until 20th Jan
