I believe one of the reasons is that people would simply cherry pick certain games and not go to other games that they may well have attended without the ticket
This confirms what I expected, that the only thing the club looks at is whether the initiative makes money in the short term. These things never will, short term price drops are just a hook to get people in. With something like a five game ticket it means getting a commitment from someone who doesn't have a season ticket; it says something about a bit of negativity in the club's thinking that instead of seeing it as a commitment to attend games that it is seen as an attempt to miss them. That's fine I suppose if you look at it as a low risk part of sustainability but this time six years ago I was hopeful of bright ideas and experimentation when it came to growing the fanbase. What we've got instead is the never ending message to keep paying up as 4000 of us have to keep the club going by ourselves. Maybe that's the reality but I still expect there's more wriggle room than the club ever addresses. I'd rather look at that than belittle another club's attempts to do things we're too conservative to do.

you never heard the term "christmas has come early" then, well the club has tried to push the Dover game as our Christmas game ... and your response
I've been around, I've heard reasoning, I don't necessarily agree with it. It's a bit silly to assume that research hasn't happened.

I've also been around long enough to know that the last Saturday before Christmas is traditionally a poorly attended game. Shouting "let's pretend it's Boxing Day" and doing nothing else to push the game is pointless and a little cringy. The last game showed how big a sell another BTB push is, i.e. Not a big one. It's offering nothing to someone wavering about going, yet it's the biggest initiative to attend a league game under fan ownership. I don't think that's very good. Feel free to disagree but stick to the point rather than assume there's no research behind the thinking.

This kind of thing has always been rejected by the club. We've done half season tickets a bit but anything that involves a bit of flexibility like a five game or ten game offer, or short term price drop, or many other ideas don't see the light of day. I've no idea if the club has ideas of this nature at all, or just know they're onto a good thing as fans continue to pay full price in numbers that help the club break even, but whatever it is we don't see it. I'm not sure why that has brought out the snowflake in everyone.

Why should anyone get a discount on games they can cherry pick, when the rest of us committed to tickets for every game?

To encourage people to come. Who says the level of discount would be the same? I've had a season ticket for years and I'm not interested in bleating about the deals people who aren't me manage to get, it's a mentality we need to escape from and it's part of the reason new things don't happen.

I love it when people use cherry picking and the National league, makes me chuckle

We are selling half season tickets and are hitting and exceeding our target gates at home. We have no need to do this, when we already have a half season ticket available.

Yeh. More of a dried up prune or squashed grape choice

Once ST sales are complete then selling blocks of 5 tickets used as needed would be an option. Likewise birthday/xmas type packages for 1 game with say a signed shirt, scarf and hat say about £50-60.

We have no need to do this if you think the club can never reach more people. We're doing well but you can always improve.

To get back on topic, Chester eh?

Another comment from Divvy chat "its a joke to be honest, and its a shame to see the same old amateur mistakes being made week in week out".

Long may it continue...
