People need to get real. For a fifth tier club there’s a lot of stuff for sale between the two shops. Some clubs basically just sell shirts.

The shops are good but that doesn't mean more can't be done.

Same as the squad, it's all about continuous improvement.

Is there accountability for all merchandising? Or is this drip fed at their convenience.

I doubt there are many 3rd & 4th tier clubs with 2 shops. Not criticising anyone with good ideas, but some people dont appreciate the efforts being made and how well things are being run at Wxm, all in an effort to improve the fortunes our club/team.

This, the marketing and fundraising teams are doing a phenomenal job, I really can't see any room for criticism here.

Good Morning.Just saw this thread and decided to add a few comments and facts about how we work. I wont get into a major debate about individual lines but if anyone wants to come in and have a chat and give me their experience and ideas they would be most welcome.
Firstly the more effort title i believe is misleading. The Eagles Meadow Shop was set up in just over a day being stocked, merchandised etc with an immense effort from so many people.
On my day off you will find me stewarding a bus to the likes of Dover ,Torquay , Grimsby and most matches and then looking at Retail and Hospitality. Over the last three years i have been in most retail shops at our away Matches. Except for Tranmere no other Shop or range compares to ours. Tranmer's shop is brilliant but i would rather that 500 k spent on it go on the team. One of Matt's tasks in the Shop is to look at all other Football Clubs on line shops for ideas. I also Google and look on line for local suppliers for stock but they must have the right product, good quality, required quantities , correct supply chain and credit terms. The Eagles Meadow Shop is think looks great but think maybe our Range is too big.
Of the lines mentioned on this thread we have Wrexham lorries in. We looked at bedding, didn't sell well previously, but couldn't buy at right price and right quantities.Christmas Jumpers is an example of us buying at £12.99 with nearby clothes Retailers selling at £12 hence they didn't sell.
Of the local Companies mentioned Tim at Spirit of 58 has been brilliant. He is a Wrexham fan and wants to support the Club. We had 3 lines for Portugal, he also helped to Sponsor the trip and came on the trip, 3 Joey and Mickey lines and a Bobble hat in on Monday. All at the right price and quantity from a Wrexham fan who supports us. Hally Ink we have done a few lines with. The Prints of the ground are done by someone who is making money using Wrexham Football Club's name. We have had no contact with him.All profit goes to him.
Overall we do have to keep an eye on our stock and a high stock holding means less money for the Managers Budget. If for example we buy 100 bedding we need to sell 50 at least in the first month to pay for it.If we sell only 10 the we have money tied up in stock. Multiple that by 50 lines we would have a problem.
I have had no one contact me offering Retail experience just one person with t shirts to sell which were poor quality and very expensive and wanted paying on delivery.
I do speak regularly to an Asda Manager, an owner of a Large Garden Centre with retail and a cafe,a Shop manager and Area Manager of a Woman's retail chain and a former small business owner of a clothes shop.As a club we have a wealth of experience to call on. There is a lot of effort going in.
Can we improve yes. Do we want to work with more local Companies with innovative ideas and fresh ideas and products Yes. Do we want more Volunteers and people to help yes. Lets get behind the club and any ideas sent to me will be looked at. Anyone who hasn't been down go and look at our Eagles Meadow Shop.Buy some Merchandise and Raffle and help support the club. You can contact me at geoff.scott@wrexhamfc.tv Thanks . Geoff Scott

Good response Geoff. We will never keep everyone happy and there are some who will criticise for no good reason. Keep up the excellent work.
