Hurst is absolutely atrocious.

Playing an experimental line up including kids against an organised team of full timers who are doing well in their league was only likely to end one way. But not risking first teamers was the sensible option. No one put their hand up for a first team start apart from Roberts and I agree the rest were poor. Expected more from Smith and Mackreth both were way off the mark. But today means nothing in the long run. It’s all about next week and then who we can bring in next month.

God help us if we had to rely on any of that lot to fill a position for a league game ........and I include the new lad in that comment also.
I'm afraid if you thought the first team midfield was poor then today's was non-existant.
Dont ever play Hurst in centre defence for the first team as he should have been guiding the youngsters around him and didn't.
Beck who was useless for us last season, when he had as much movement as a log ,was left unmarked twice to score.
Any striker coming into this set-up will struggle with no decent service whatsoever. Mackreth can't beat a man , tackle or head a ball -get rid!
Remind me not to waste my money on cup-ties where little desire is shown. If we want money to boost our squad try getting some wins in cup games.
Unless we show some fight Dover will roll us over.

He’s one of the worst players we’ve ever had.

Not feeling sorry for them in the slightest. I agree, they're privileged to play football for a living. They'll benefit from the rest, though.

Harrogate rested some key players as well.
Agree Smith and Mackreth did themselves no favours.

Result is immaterial but the clear lack basics seems obvious and it appears we have been easily beaten. Some of these players have been in the main starting 11 and some should be pushing for a place.

The lack of quality in the squad has been pointed out and for me its obvious that another raft of big changes are needed. The spine of the team is still way short of what is required.

Dover game will be a huge test and DK really has to think about his statting 11.
