Roberts/Carrington

Nothing wrong with Roberts defensively and is quicker than Carrington.

Carrington has more skill, is a better passer and links nicely with the winger in front of him.

Is Carrington missing out on a regular right-back berth because he's the utility guy, or is Roberts genuinely the better option?

It's a good question, I think Roberts has been steadily improving as the season goes on, but I do like Carra as a right back. As you say, defensively Roberts is the better of the 2 hence he gets the nod over Carra at the moment

Roberts is a very good defender and, ultimately, that's his job. He's one those players that you barely notice in a game and struggle to remember anything of any real significance. There's a reason for that.

Roberts was the only player who did himself justice yesterday.

As for Carrington-was he told to just go through the motions?? Full back he's ok but midfield he flatters to deceive.

This is not true. Before you get into the relative merits of both players, Carrington is wrong footed for starters.

Carrington is the better option at left back.
