Anything bar a ' Macclesfield ' and a ' Harrogate ' performance.
How do you know Wrexham weren't in for him? Be honest, if you had no affiliation to either us or Fleetwood, which one would you sign for?

And if we were and had won the race for him you can bet your bottom dollar folk would have been whinging about signing a player from a pub league and bringing Kai Edwards name into it, but because we have lost out to Fleetwood he must be good.

Hopefully the penny is beginning to drop with some that there is quality in the WPL, to pass it off as a pub league just doesn't wash anymore, if it ever did.

We will never stand a chance of signing good and up and coming young players until we have a scout or two. Until the club can confirm there is a longer term view with regards to scouting young up and coming talent rather than signing the next batch of journeymen then we will be down here for the foreseeable.

Jackson wasn't local or north west based he was from Tamworth and even then that was probably cos Morrell was in charge.

The quoted post never mentioned local, and besides does it matter? I couldn't care less if a player was from Aberdeen or Dover, as long as they improve us which Jackson did. Kai Edwards was supposed to be the best of the best from the WPL but it didn't work out. Any signing is a gamble and posters would complain no matter which route is taken as the grass is always greener in their eyes.

This

The more this happens the more I feel the club are scared to take such punts to appease the fans, just like the Mills appointment by getting the popular choice in.

Kai Edwards was a known entity to us, apart from him, who else have we even signed/been linked with at that level.

Anyway, for those who are impressed by any players at lower levels you can let the club know and this will get passed on to the management team.

A full time scout is an absolute must for us moving forward, someone should be signed up immediately in fact.

Fair enough, but history tells us not to expect too much from Wrexham in the way of spotting local ( real ) talent, and did Fleetwood simply get there first ?.
Btw I regard ' local ' as north Wales.

I think the point is that we should know in advance of Fleetwood so get in there first.

I don't know whether this is reasonable or not.

We can only sign players in January, as can Fleetwood. We may well have been watching this lad before Fleetwood came in, who knows?
