Answer: 1 win in the last 5

This form will not keep us in the play-off zone

On our current form we have already fizzled out as many predicted, this transfer window is massively important and action is needed urgently. Yes don’t rush in I hear you say but we’ve known the problems since August so no excuses to sort our season out.

We'll see whether the club has any ambition in the next 4 weeks.

Our squad lacks quality. At some point we were always going to falter. The last month or so has seen opposition shots that were hitting bar and post, smashing the back of the net.

I would love to stay positive, but the Xmas period was always going to be a massive test to ourselves and our rivals. Suddenly draws aren’t looking good enough. The form tables all suggest we are mid table fodder.

I really hope Dean can get his recruitment right in January. It’s far from ideal trying to make major signings in jan, but it can be done providing Dean is allowed to spend money on competitive wages. I think the league title will go elsewhere, but we must be aiming to finish top 5. Anything less is another season of failure IMO.

The midfield is the main area we need to strengthen. We lack quality in the middle and outwide. If we can put more quality into the box, the strikers will score more goals. We also have zero goal threat in the centre of midfield. This needs to change.

Maybe the tactics need looking at.... Telling Manny and Pearson to leather the ball upfield at every opportunity, cuts out silly errors at the back, but also gives the other team possession. Maybe a 4 3 3 would suit our players better? Sometimes I feel the team is too structured and the players are very robotic in their decision making. Could Keates allow them more freedom to flourish?

What I do know is I’ll be there New Years Day, cheering on the Reds, regardless of any of the above. This is still our best chance of challenging for promotion in years.

Maybe, just maybe, we will pull it off!

It'll be clear pretty quickly, if we're still waiting in 4 weeks time it's game over.

Very misleading...

That run of fixtures doesn’t start until 17th Feb!

They have a much easier run of fixtures over the next 6 weeks to play first!

I don't think the tactics need looking at. We are challenging, or were challenging, because of Manny smiths safety first hoofs. We don't want to stop that key strength, but rather put a team out that suits that tactic. I.e. Big man up front.
