Yesterday in horrendous conditions I thought he did ok and I didn't mind him getting mom although Miller looked decent. I'm sure many will disagree but we need a wide man to put decent balls in with some quality and a central midfielder to boss the game (not sure about Akil Wright). We can spend all the budget on a striker but i don' t think it'll make a huge difference at this stage
Would agree with most of that.Midfield is the main problem .

Me too. We have had an endless list now in the last few years of strikers who when they come here can't find the net . In many cases they had decent reputations and had scored elsewhere. Chances are even Miller will leave us with lots of oohs and aahs but no goals. Size seems to have no bearing, Danny Wright ran for miles, looked like a striker even , but massively underperformed in the scoring department. Other tall guys have
all failed to deliver with the single exception of Moult. This leads me to think it's not just the lack of service they receive but more likely the actual technical ability of the types who end up here .Moult had that ability. Hopefully for once with some decent cash for a side at our level we will be able to attract the right guy again. Danny Rowe at AFC Fylde is the best striker by a mile in the Conference and is some footballer too and the type we desperately need.Unfortunately he would not leave Fylde and is financially independent and enjoying his football. Good luck Dean and I hope you can brighten our lives up in the next couple of weeks.

Yep and for me Wedgbury sums up our problems at CM.
Hard working player but very short on quality, ball retention and general overall leadership from the middle. His defensive work with the 2 CBs has provided a foundation for well basically a defensive formation.

He looks like someone from the Bash Street Kids that has put a kit on and run onto the pitch. His heading is very poor as shown by the abysmal attempt to clear the lines on the 3rd goal on NYD, if under pressure with the ball he panics and just gets rid. We need a better 2 CM pairing as along with Pearson/Manny its the spine of the team and should be the heartbeat going forwards.

Agree with this. Wedgebury's distribution was terrible on Monday. He is combative but needs a better partner alongside him.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Wedgebury isn't good enough, he couldn't pass wind, he simply is in the similar mould to Robbie Evans & Rutherford works hard, runs around a lot, but little quality, that's why we are where we are our fans seem to like players who work hard look busy which is great yes we need that commitment. But without quality it's not good enough for promotion.

Yet when he doesn't play we fall to pieces.

Didn't he score with a header at Macclesfield 3 weeks ago??

didn't Wright score 17 goals in his second season with us? Hardly 'massively underperforming in the scoring department'. In fact, a good haul.

He scored far fewer in his first season with us, but to criticise him for that is harsh given he was one of several star strikers, not on his own like in his second year.
