I agree PD. I can just about remember the Anderlecht game. I was watching it last night, still hoping we'd hang on. That bloody Robbie Rensinbrink!

So many great players there last night, but more importantly, top class gentlemen. So chuffed to shake Bobby Shinton's hand and tell him he was my absolute hero. I was always Bobby Shinton in the back garden.

Very true. Shinton was a great player and character.

Let’s hope we create some new memories over these remaining 14 games.

I didn't go but it sounds like the type of event that a great many would have liked to see the Media Team cover and put a video together - perhaps include a few interviews and introductions of the old players from a golden age in our history.

Agree about the Declan Swans probably not the best option for this type of event (although I have all their CD's).

Luke Gallagher was in the Centenary Club on pre season open day - I think we should utilize him far more - great talented local musician.

I saw Luke Gallagher at the William Aston a couple of years ago. He's very good, and he was again last night. A fan?

Thanks to everyone who supported last night's event, which was staged to collectively pay tribute to a wonderful player and a gent. Thank you to Luke for his performance. Sorry for those of you who weren't entirely happy with the evening and thank you for your constructive criticism. We will learn from that. Overall I think you would agree it was a great success, and there were times when I had a lump in my throat, from the outpouring of tributes and emotion from Gareth's former team mates. God bless you Gareth.

Sincerest thanks to everyone who turned up to support Gareth on Friday night. Special thanks to his former team-mates who arrived in great numbers and spoke so well , and kindly , about the great man. They all love Gareth as we all do. It was an emotional night.
Personal thanks go to Luke Gallagher who entertained us so well for no charge. Highly impressed by a personable young man with great talent. We will be booking him again for a future FPA event ......and paying him!!Also thanks to my old mate Quay Red who did a sterling job selling raffle tickets.
Still totting up final figures but the profit on the night will be £2000+.
Thanks again.

We had a free Gareth Davis quiz on Friday with a donated bottle of Prosecco going to the winner. These were the questions:-
1 In which town or city was Gareth born?
2 Who was Wrexham's manager when Gareth signed for the Club?
3 Which Man Utd superstar guested for the Reds in Gareth's Testimonial match?
4 In which season did Gareth win the Player of the Year Award?
5 What is Gareth's middle name?
6 Gareth made his full International debut for Wales in 1978 playing against which Middle East country?
7 What was Gareth's position prior to John Neal switching him to play in defence?
8 Two players have made a record 14 appearances for Wrexham in European competition. One is Gareth, who is the other?
9 Against which club did Gareth score his only goal in the European Cup- winners Cup?
10 What was the official attendance in 1978 when Wrexham defeated Rotherham Utd 7-1 to clinch promotion to the Second Division?
