Default Re: Fixtures

after a quick look at fixtures... compared to other teams fixtures. ours id say are quite generous... apart from Sutton who somebody mentioned aboved on paper are slightly kinder..

altrhough for me id rather play mid table teams with no chance of play offs last 5-10 games as they got nothing to play for..

whereas the relegation threatened teams always seem to raise their game and pull of shock victories.. and normally at least one of those relegation teams goes on a decent run of form and beats a lot of good teams.

but i think for sure we will be there or there abouts.

and i think we will be in the top 3 come end of season... which one of those top 3? is yet to be seen depending on who keates brings in

also an interesting stat on BBC website.. Holroyd is on of thee most prolific (league) strikers in our league.. with 150 mins per goal based on his goals and time on the pitch (many seem to forget he was injured for a while at start of season)

only ones ahead of him on that stat are Williamson from Eastleigh and Wright from Sutton (both 9 goals each) Holroyd now 11

All games at this level have their challenges but in terms of really tough games I would say only following:

Tranmere H
Aldershot H
Sutton A

January window may ultimately define our season, but this team has given us a great chance from here on.

If we do get to a stage where we can't win it or it's extremely unlikely then we need to be aiming for top 3, then top 5 then the very least top 7. In theory 2nd & 3rd have a big advantage over all the others, 4th & 5th have advantage over 6th & 7th, so we would need get the best position possible and increase the chance of winning the play offs.

We should be in for some exciting football or at least a roller coaster, for those who can allow themselves to get excited and enjoy supporting Wxm and we can look for to some big matches.
When the new playoffs were announced, it was considered that the team finishing third would have an easier play off than the team finishing second. 4th will play 7th with the winner playing the team finishing 2nd; 5th will play 6th with the winner playing the team finishing 2nd. On paper that would be correct...what you want to avoid is the team in form

All away games are tricky in this league - our record atm is 535 - and we have 3 between now and 3 Feb with Tranmere at home sandwiched in between.

After that Halifax H, Sutton A and Aldershot at home and we are now at the point of this period probably defining the season. Fingers crossed for a decent points return during this time.
