I was one of the people who didn't think much of him prior to this season, but he's been our best midfielder this season easy.

The assister is just as important as the scorer in my eyes, and we'd have seen a lot more 0-0s than we already have without Rutherford.

Agreed with another poster who said everyone in our team/this league has something 'missing' that's why they're down here. Thought Paul has done magnificent this season and he only seems to be improving in confidence.

Also, that assist for the Holroyd's second was Messi-esque.

He must have the highest back pass rate in the league. Cannot/will not try to beat a man. And as for a high work rate- what do people expect? He is a professional footballer, after all. Light weight tackler and run like a crab. Where did I put those rose tinted spectacles that Spencer Harris gave me?

I know it was only Torquay but he beat his man pretty consistently on Saturday.

His workrate is unbelievable and he is obviously the perfect pro. You need that at this level, good professionals who don’t need managing. We’ve got loads in the current team of his ilk to be fair.

But...if he could shoot or pick a crucial pass he’d be in League One or somewhere.

Good post, we are where we are but it is heartwarming to see the team busting a gut ! I've not seen that for years.

He’s having a good season. Good on him too. He took a lot of stick last year so it’s even more sweet that he is shutting people up in the best way.

I wanted him to stay on, but I didn't think he could establish himself as a regular starter in an improved side. Good on him.
