The safety committee closed the old Mold Road stand after the Bradford fire, yet many other grounds had wooden stands that were still in use for years later.
So we're hampered by morons on a committee then.

I would imagine the old Mold Road stand was decreed unsafe not specifically because it was mainly of timber construction but because it was unsafe and probably too costly to maintain - perhaps building control discovered problems and the electrics were a potential fire hazard - who knows but it was a very old stand.

Members of the Safety Advisory Group are taking a massive individual and group responsibility for spectator safety - if the wheel comes off big time they will be scrutinized for everything they have done.

Why are they morons ? please do expand on why they are so wrong and how you would do it - perhaps they are doing it all wrong with their decades of experience, training and knowledge as experts in their own chosen field. Something else that seems to be regularly overlooked is 'cost' - there is often a solution to many problems but if it costs too much to put right then a compromise is needed.

They are NOT morons - I had friends at the Bradford fire game and it was horrendous. Our committee took a decision to close the old wooden stands in good faith and I for one applauded it. To just take a swipe at others trying to do their best is IMO moronic.

What's having friends at the Bradford fire got to do with over enthusiastic segregation?

The measures imposed on our fans for derby games are ridiculous compared to other clubs, who all have to comply with the same regulations.

Maybe not morons, just incompetent then.

Extremely cautious and very much do what the police say is perhaps more fair.

The comparison was made and I responded to it.

As to what is imposed on our fans for Derby games - it may be deemed to be over enthusiastic but if we are all being honest we rarely cover ourselves in glory when it comes to crowd behaviour so perhaps it could be called overtly pessimistic.

Tickets selling ok, expecting MRS to sell out next week , Tranny sold nearly 600 so far, it would be great if we could get 7,500 for this & nice payday for club .

I think, although I don't agree, that the theory is to put as many physical barriers between the fans as possible, because they're free. Lines of stewards could be used to separate fans, but they cost money.

I would guess that if we could sell all the seats under the netting, or in no man's land someone would do the maths to work out if it was better to sell the seats and pay the stewards, or keep the seats empty and not pay the stewards.
Until we sell all the available seats we won't know.

I really hope it's not all ticket for the other stands is it?
