And I think this is the problem we have. We are set up to be defensive first and foremost and hope to get goals on the break or from set pieces etc.

Mackreth is never going to start ahead of Rutherford in that set up as for all his weaknesses in the final third, Rutherford brings a phenomenal level of work-rate and is also good defensively.

At the moment Mackreth is better coming off the bench to try and use his pace late in the game.

I keep hearing about his fantastic pace; yet he seems slower that York or even Cheesy. I've seen him outpaced by NL full-backs more than once this season, without the ball.

It seems to he's living off flashes, going back years. He needs to grow a heart and contribute even when he isn't playing well.

The one that got me was late on in the game at Chester where the ball was hoofed from defence to him and I can't remember who but a Chester player simply knocked him over with a fair challenge and he went down like he had been shot, I think he's watching to many soft foreign premier players.

To be fair York and Czielewicsz were both really quick.

Part of the problem is he very often receives the ball to feet, which then leaves it difficult to get a run in. id much prefer to see him running on to a through ball, at pace.

Mackreth has been a really good player at this level, he may get there again but injuries at the wrong time and a subsequent lack of confidence could cost him with us....I was surprised we only gave him (and Boden) 1 year deals but it could prove pretty shrewd in the summer.

He is more then just pace so harsh to compare his speed to those two who relied on it more, York had/has a bit about him but Cizz literally was just fast!

Not knocking him as that would involve him playing off the last man not hanging back. That may be a confidence, fitness, coaching or manager's instructions thing.

He is after a player from York. Correia, I think he went to watch him against Telford last night.

Raul Correia joined York on loan from Blackpool last week.

He was on loan at Guiseley earlier this season and played 11 times with just the 1 goal.

Raul Correia has signed for York City on loan from Blackpool | York Press

No way are we after him.
