It’s not like Keates is getting slaughtered here more like his excellent first half to the season has significantly raised expectations and fans are desperate for him to capitalise on that.
You make some good points Phil, luck is what we have missed a bit of.

Thats not how I saw it, chief. Throwing balls into the box for the big number 4 to head away every single time does not a 'late push for a deserved equaliser' make.

Soz.

It's all about differing opinions!

My view of the opening game is more aligned to the DP one.

A fair assessment. But in our case it's not that the forwards we got looked shabby, but we only got two on permanent deals and have otherwise scratched around. Not getting another genuine wide man also looked odd. But there is an element of being careful of what you wish for; if we'd got Hannah we'd be in a pickle when it came to quality and have less room for manoeuvre now.

preseason pretty much everybody was happy with Boden and Holroyd with Massanka as a bench warmer.

hindsight is a wonderful thing... had we of known Boden was not going to be a success im sure Ketaes wouldnt of brought him in.. but just because Keates wasn't Psychic .. doesn't mean it wasn't sorted preseason... was you Psychic ? as im sure you was one of the fans who was happy when Boden 1st signed.

look at the league table.... we are doing fine.. and if/when keates Further improves us we can maybe make a push for ther title

thats the problem with negative posters..
Keates wasn't even happy with three strikers, he said so himself. Massanka wasn't good enough first time around either so we ended up with two poor loan strikers. This has nothing to do with hindsight.

Also if we're intending to play like we do a target man would have been a priority surely.

Quite a few weren't happy with Masanka coming back. He showed very little first time here and very little second time bar maybe one match were he scored two.

I wouldn't say people are being negative more realistic. Were already half way through the transfer window and have one loan signing in and one on loan who we have signed. No signing to help in the midfield or centre back cover. We've had bids rejected and despite having funds for once seem to be struggling to attract players to the club.

To be fair I haven't seen many 'negative' posts from people. More frustration that we have done so well but don't seem to be able to make that push.

We all know the limitations of the squad, as does Keates and I can see he is doing all he can to improve us.

But the main issue we are having now with recruiting strikers has possibly stemmed from failure to recruit more than 2 permanent strikers in the summer.

I was one who was glad we signed Boden and Holroyd in the summer and if i'm honest i'm glad we did, Holroyd has exceeded my expectations whilst Boden looks to be improving each game.

I am now pretty much certain the club who have rejected three bids for their midfielder is likely to be Hartlepool.
It stands to reason they will want to milk any transfer for all they can given the circumstances.
If its not them then the midfielder in question must be worth pursuing!
