Cook's contract is quickly running out - if he is so valued by Tranmere why have they not offered him a contract extension ? Perhaps they have but there is no news of him signing one - yet he is an absolute asset, a proven goalscorer and there will be no shortage of clubs who would surely take him.
Rumour is Bradford City have put in a bid and my belief is we still haven't given up.
Tranmere need to come to a decision quickly - lose him in May for nothing or offer him an extension (if they haven't already). My guess is he will walk at the end of the season unless a significant bid is made by 'someone' for him.
The other factor is finances (as always), dependent on where Tranmere are at the end of the season - one things for sure his name just wont go away from the radar.

Keates in the Post says we cant agree a deal with a club for a midfielder who wants to come here. He's still hopeful though but the club is the obstruction.

Good to see he realises theres a weakness in our midfield though.

Heard the same story a few weeks back.

I would like to believe it is true but would rather stay a pessimist for now...

As to him coming here for free, I doubt it. If he is free in the summer, lots of clubs at this level and L2 will likely be in for him.

I fully expect him to be lining up in White on Saturday... unfortunately.

Tranmere have said they will not sell Cook to us. End of the day why would they sell him to a team they are trying to chase down in a tight race for promotion?
