Just trying to put things into perspective in saying this but if you have 200-300 away fans easily spotted by most in the football stadium does it need 3 or 4 coppers from another force to spot or observe. Bit like how many does it need to change a lightbulb syndrome. And there are presumably other ways of passing on police intelligence phone , computer, etc.

I know a few Tranmere lads who go just to watch a game in peace who have bought tickets in the Yale stand. They don't like being treated like idiots and shepherded into one particular area, especially away to us and the Jesters as the baying mob can spoil the football for them. They are around retirement age.
Conversely enthusiastic support can make the game.

This. I know a few lads who have bought home tickets. You'll never know they're there, because they're not the sort of people who cause fuss or draw attention to themselves.

I'm not saying these things to wind you up.

For some reason this game has sparked the interest and our away numbers have been good so far this season. Selling out at Flyde recently. People want to see this game, our ticket allocation isn't sufficient and therefor some people are opting to sit in the home ends.

Don't know how they do it, how could they celebrate a goal or not give themselves away if the home team score?

I know, it's crap... I couldn't do it myself. I sat in the home end at Sheffield Wednesday once and it was hard. Some people get less emotionally involved I suppose!

Its a killer... My father in law is a Port Vale fan and we went to watch them play Wrexham many years ago (Chris Llewellyn was playing for us). I had to sit in a stand full of angry Vale fans as we ran out 2-0 winners I think.

The self control needed to not even smile as the goals went in is hard to describe lol.
It didn't help that my father in law kept threatening to out me!

Well you can't celebrate the away team scoring, thats a given, but no ones going to notice if you don't celebrate us scoring.

At a guess the paddock will be used for match day tickets sales and overspill.
