Just think, some of our younger fans will never have seen anything like this that we've talked about, it's why I appreciate it even more now when we do get some good times, they'll not know what's hit them!

My favourite away days from the 80s onwards there are far too many to mention here, I grew up wishing I had been around during the 70s glory days!!!
Absolutely, me too! Haven't been to an away day since the play off defeat (to my shame). Prior to that went everywhere! Scunthorpe... 1-1 and 2 nil in the FA cup, great days!

Got to admire the loyalty of today's fans who go everywhere to some right places (I daren't say what I was gonna say )

Something you rarely see nowadays when your going up and down the dual carriageway is coach loads of other fans doing their own journeys to different grounds.

The Cardiff fans in daft overalls was the previous season. Seem to recall a few in all white boiler suits ! Cardiff beat wxm 8-0 on aggregate that year as they’d won at ninnian Park 5-0 earlier in the season.
As for large away support in the 90’s I’d say Burnley would always bring plenty, and Preston likewise. Blackpool never so much .
Biggest away support of all were port vale . They had all the then Martsons stand and paddock as well as the mold end of the old yale paddock. Must have been 4,000-5,000 of them.

Gillingham

They had to win to go up, we won 1.0

Border stand and tech end yale end as well.

other one not mentioned

Aston villa in the early 70s, it felt like thousand of them, was just a kid and I remember my Dad taking me home early due to the fights going on around the ground.

One of ours Bury away in the 3rd division ( old) championship season, thousands of us.
