need a referee to sort this one out.
Personally believe if the ball is out of play then the ref can't give a free kick but should caution the player for the late challenge.
We've only got ourselves to blame for defending two set pieces badly.

If we had VAR on Saturday we would have had around 102 stoppages for what was a perfection demonstration of an imperfect yet beautiful game. There wasn't anything OTT but there was a distinctive edge on the field with lots of meaty challenges being put in and a fair few tussles to be had.

Taylor isn't filling me with confidence and its' frustrating as we have a young Welsh prospect sitting on the bench who I am confident could do a better job.
Know what you mean about Taylor, seemed hesitant on a few occasions

Quite agree. Lots of talking points and lots of very good battles going on. I think VAR will be bad for football in my view it will become boring every minute stopping the play. Would get like that American game, where they just beat each other up, stop start all the time....
Yes look at bad challenges and diving after the game but if they take away the flow from football it will become a non event.

I work with an FAW and Fifa referee, and will get his official view.

He has helped me settle a debate previously, and loves getting involved to offer his official opinion

Does the infringement occur as the offending player leaves the ground with intent , Or is it when actual contact is made..?
Flying into the goalkeeper with no real chance of getting to the ball, must be a foul surely..

Both keepers don't appear to be capable of the type clanger Shwan Jalal made on Saturday and both made a number of good saves.

McNulty is a salad-dodging gobby twat, but as I commented to a mate during the second half he just seems to be in the right place at the right time 99% of the time. That's not luck. Kind of player you hate if he's opposition but love if he's yours I suppose.

He's an excellent reader of the game. Its amazing how much running around you can cut down on if you can do that.
