Re: Highlights from Tranmere game
My match changing observations from watching the full highlights with slow-mo action replays (thanks Media Team ):-
Dunn was taken out after the ball for their corner which led to the goal. Free kick to us, and no corner. Pearson was head locked by their number 4 and a clear penalty. Dave the Rave was having his shirt pulled by Ginnelly and he awards Tramps a free kick which Cook scored from. It was a swan dive and never a free kick in a month of Sunday's. The ref correctly awarded a free kick for the blatant obstruction on Quig's by McNulty. After earlier giving Holroyd a yellow, for shirt pulling, how on earth did he not give a yellow for this. He stepped forward into the path of Quigs and barged him! McNulty then got a yellow for a hand ball later in the match, which should of been two yellows and off. I don't think either penalty shout in the second half were actually pens. Holroyd seemed to dive, and their lad controlled it with his stomach, not arm. Two superb saves from Dunn in the first and second half, but Taylor was the busiest of the two keepers. Mellon's press conference comments about the ref costing them the game make him look like the bitter fool he is. The ref handed Tranmere two goals, and a point, which on reflection they shouldn't of got. Looking forward to the Gateshead match!

But McNulty knew that Quig's had him for pace, so turned sideways and blocked his path. Clear obstruction and the most obvious yellow card which the ref bottled.

Re: Highlights from Tranmere game
I listened to Mellon's 20 minute interview/drivel.
What a bitter and twisted man he is. If you haven't listened to your it, have a listen. After 10 minutes you'll be bored stiff. Look at me, listen to me, I'm always right. The ref cost us the game. Nothing about two one on ones that his strikers missed. |
